Power to the Consumer: The Reality of Managing Individual Rights Under GDPR
Individual rights management is a requirement under many privacy laws around the globe, although perhaps none is as extensive as the GDPR. Consumer-facing companies have put processes and resources in place to manage this new work stream. Others hope the flow remains manageable.
Based on a session that was developed by Daniel Solove and Paul Schwartz for the Privacy+Security Forum, this webinar features Maggie Gloeckle, Vice President and Compliance Counsel for A+E Networks and K Royal, Director, West Region, Privacy Consulting at TrustArc.
During this 75-minute session Maggie and K will share practical insights on the rights of data subjects under GDPR, such as the purpose, how to comply, exceptions, and real-world examples, regarding:
+ Transparent communication
+ The right of access to personal data
+ The right of rectification
+ The right to erasure, aka the right to be forgotten
+ The right to restrict processing
+ The right of data portability
+ The right to object to processing
+ The right not to be evaluated on the basis of automated processing
Margaret Gloeckle is Vice President, Privacy & Compliance Counsel at A+E Networks, where she is responsible for the company’s global data privacy and security program. Prior to A+E, Margaret was Senior Privacy Officer at a financial institution and has also held the position as global privacy program manager.
