HB is proud to announce that New York Supreme Court Justice Martin Shulman has joined the chairing panel of HB’s 13th Annual National Asbestos Litigation Conference.
Justice Shulman joins plaintiff attorney Joseph W. Belluck of Belluck & Fox and defense counsel Michael J. Pietrykowski of Gordon & Rees in leading the program, which was run for many years under the Mealey’s Conferences brand.
Justice Shulman maintains an active Supreme Court docket presiding over cases involving asbestos exposure, drug product liability, complex mass torts and civil asset forfeiture. He was elected a Supreme Court Justice in New York County in November 2005. In 2000, he was appointed as Supervising Judge of the New York County Civil Court. His earned an A.A. in 1977 (magna cum laude) and B.A., 1978 (cum laude) from Yeshiva University, and his J.D. in 1981 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Justice Shulman had been a government attorney and engaged in private practice for seven years in New York City until his election as a Civil Court Judge in 1994.
