We at HB Litigation Conferences LLC recently took over the Mealey’s Conference business, which a couple of us actually started as part of Mealey Publications, now owned by LexisNexis.  With the acquisition came one department that somehow escaped the due diligence scrutiny of three acquisition teams.  The guys in that department, which they dubbed  Mr. Legal Ed, produced educational video tapes for lawyers.  Much of what they created was destroyed when a sink filled with limes overflowed during an office party.  We salvaged a handful of the recordings.  In this one, the Mr. Legal Ed team tried to demonstrate the importance of maintaining a level of decorum in the courtroom.  The message is that no matter how good one feels about one’s self, and a good lawyer will experience this state often, it is important to keep your cool, to maintain a professional façade (because it has that cool “ç” thing going on), and otherwise to not act like a jackass.  It’s a lesson worth learning, if not obvious.  Disclaimer:  the opinions expressed here may or may not be those of HB Litigation Conferences LLC.  In fact, they do belong to someone else.  We stole them.  There, we said it.   So if you have a giddy sense of irony — then sue us.  Like everyone else we’re broke.  So enjoy.
