Patent trolls, a term of endearment for Patent Assertion Entities or PAEs, continue taking top spots in intellectual property news. Despite a lack of fondness from the tech industry, patent trolls recently scored a reprieve from any legislative leash designed to rein in what opponents call their “litigate, not innovate” approach to collecting patents for the sole purpose of making money through infringement actions. As this activity continues to dog the technology industry, it is imperative that companies and their legal departments stay sharp on the subject. To that end, HB Litigation Conferences and BlueStar Case Solutions have joined to produce this informative webinar.
What We Will Cover
Attorneys Neil A. Belson, a leading advisor to life sciences and pharmaceutical companies, and Andrea L. Charters, a prominent information technology attorney counseling senior executives on strategic domestic and global issues, will engage in a lively dialogue, moderated by BlueStar’s Matthew Minor, to compare and contrast patent troll issues facing Information Technology and Bio-Pharma corporations in the context of patent enforcement for operating companies, including:
• Patent trolls vs. monetizing your patents
• Contractual and licensing recent developments
• Litigation management strategies for patent trolls
• Bio-pharma vs. information technology trolls
• Multi-defendant and jurisdictional issues
