Timothy Delahunt practices exclusively in the area of New York insurance law. Tim represents insurance carriers and other insurance professionals throughout New York State, with a particular emphasis on the five New York City boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester, in addition to litigation in Buffalo, Rochester, and Albany. His clients include major national insurers, mutuals, specialty insurers, surplus lines carriers, third party administrators, managing general agents, and brokers and agents. An experienced trial and appellate litigator in both state and federal courts, Tim also counsels clients regarding coverage and underwriting issues outside of or in advance of litigation. He is a frequent speaker and writer on insurance law issues and has presented at events sponsored by the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York Unified Courts, New York Insurance Association, HB Litigation Conferences, and the American Association of Managing General Agents, among others. He is also an editor and author of “Construction Insurance: A Guide for Attorneys and Other Professionals,” American Bar Association, 2011. He was selected as a New York State “Super Lawyer” in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
Scott Godes joined Dickstein Shapiro in July 2006. He is counsel in the Insurance Coverage Practice. Mr. Godes focuses on representing corporate policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. He is a seasoned litigator who has extensive experience in trying complex insurance coverage disputes, including class actions, in state, federal, bankruptcy, and appellate courts, as well as in commercial arbitrations. Mr. Godes currently is co-leader of the firm’s Cyber Security Insurance Coverage Initiative.
